If your FICO score is bad to fair the first thing you want to do is remove you name from the credit bureau's list. By removing your name from this list you can bump up your FICO score anywhere from 5-20 points. In the eye’s of the credit reporting bureaus, if you are receiving junk mail offers to extend you credit sooner or later you might accept one of these offers. This increases the potential for over extending lines of credit and slipping into default. The credit bureaus hold back your credit score simply because you receive credit card offers. You can always return to this site once your FICO score is excellent and opt back in to receive offers.
